If you haven't heard, the PawSox have announced that they've signed a letter of intent with the City of Worcester to build a Triple A ballpark which will is slated to open in 2021. The development is estimated to be a $90 million venture including both a mix of residential and commercial space. Polar Beverage, a beloved regional soft drink producer, has secured naming rights to the stadium, which will be known as Polar Park. Along with the move comes a name change for the team. They'll now be known as the Worcester Red Sox, or WooSox for short.
This is exciting news for the city! Worcester has seen a lot of positive change over the past decade with great colleges, sought-after restaurants, and promising companies calling the city home.
